An Uber driver was temporarily blinded in one eye after a passenger allegedly savagely attacked and threatened him.

Dash cam footage emerged showing driver Moiz Akash being beaten and strangled by a man who entered his car on Sunday night.

Akash had picked up the man on a street in Koongamia in Perth for an Uber ride, according to WA Police.

The man allegedly entered the car “in an aggressive manner” and punched and spat on Mr. Akash, who raised his arms in a defensive position.

The situation had reportedly calmed down before the man realized he was being recorded on the vehicle’s dash cam, prompting him to begin his vicious attack.

“He said, ‘I’m going to kill you tonight, you’re going to die tonight,’” Mr Akash recalled to 7News.

The driver claimed he was unable to breathe for more than 10 seconds when the stranger choked him.

But Mr. Akash managed to fight back, biting off the man’s finger after it had popped into his mouth.

Both men then got out of the vehicle, where the stranger allegedly threatened the driver again.
