Rachel and Ryan of The Block had an intense clash on Tuesday’s episode as tensions turned feverish during the final week of construction.
The couple, who have kept their differences a secret for most of the season, took a huge blow after Ryan made a decision about their deck without consulting his wife.
They started bickering during a sit-down interview when Ryan gave an update on the patio and outdoor space.

His update was news to Rachel, who was unaware of the new plan. She was furious that she was not involved in the decision-making process.
Ryan explained to the producers that their team had decided not to proceed with building part of their house’s wraparound deck.
“We even removed part of the deck. So we’re going to fill the ground, all the way to the door, with crushed pebbles, which will give that nice rural feel… I think it’s just…” he explained.
‘[That’s] news to me,” Rachel intervened. “I voted for the deck. So [it’s] news to me that that is happening.’

‘Oh okay. Well, it happens,” Ryan added.
The swipe didn’t stop there when Rachel asked her husband ‘where was I?’ when the wraparound deck decision was made.
“I don’t know, where were you today?” Ryan snapped back.
“Painting all day, non-stop on a scissor lift,” she replied. ‘Who decided this? You and I are the contestants, so who decided this?’
‘I don’t know. We’ll talk about it later. I don’t know,” Ryan said. “I think it was just a… it was a common understanding that I thought everyone…”

“Yet in agreement between whom?” Rachel asked emphatically.
While Rachel continued to push her husband for an answer, Ryan told her to “just calm down” and that they would “talk about it later.”
“It’s been 12 weeks since I said, ‘Stop making decisions without me,’” Rachel said, before adding desperately, “I haven’t even been consulted…”
“It’s not a bad decision. It’s actually a better decision,’ Ryan told the producers. “It would take way too long to finish the deck.”
“Hold on, you’re talking to me like I’ve done something wrong here… You’re talking a little aggressively to me,” Rachel said.
While Rachel continued to push her husband for an answer, Ryan told her to “just calm down” and that they would “talk about it later.”

“Because I wasn’t part of the conversation. As far as I knew, there was a deck there.’
She ended the confrontation by suggesting that she go out to dinner with their friends and fellow contestants Tom and Sarah-Jane – without Ryan.
The pair’s spat comes after Monday’s clash between Sharon and Ankur and foremen Keith and Dan.
The husband-and-wife team took offense when Keith and Dan pointed out that they were over budget.
The men joked that Ankur, as an accountant, should have seen the $26,000 spillover.

Sharon and Ankur were concerned that the comment could affect Ankur’s career outside of the show.
“It’s actually unrelated,” Ankur lamented, adding that the couple had financial difficulties due to the largest build.
“It has nothing to do with being an accountant or not being an accountant,” he added angrily.
The pair then confronted the foremen in a heated clash, with Sharon telling the pair that the auditor’s comments were inconsistent.
Keith and Dan joked that Ankur, as an accountant, should have seen the $26,000 spill
“Like, he still has to work!” Sharon whimpered and burst into tears.
“Don’t worry,” Ankur said to his ailing wife.
“You cried so much for this f**king show. It’s no use, mate. We are culled every day!’ he screamed.
Keith and Dan took the criticism to heart and apologized for mentioning Ankur’s career, but insisted that he find a way to move on.
Ankur was not pleased and yelled at the couple again.
“It shouldn’t be like that. Just f**k off. There is no empathy, no sympathy. But don’t cry on this show anymore,” he said, before storming off with Sharon.
