This year’s Melbourne Cup entertainment features an all-Australian lineup, including Australian indie pop powerhouse Sheppard and Colin Hay from Men at Work, who will play Down Under.
Cody Simpson also has the honor of singing the national anthem.
“It’s a huge honour,” the 25-year-old told the Daily Mail Australia on Monday. “It’s the first time I’ve ever done it. I couldn’t be asked to do anything more prestigious.”

The singer-turned-swimmer also provided an update on his recording career — and what the future might hold.

“I still play guitar pretty much every day to relax, and when I’m done with the pool, I’ll definitely jump back to music.”
