Imogen Anthony has been an advocate for ‘Nup to the Cup’ for years and she stood by her stance on Tuesday at the 2022 Melbourne Cup.
The 31-year-old model shared several memes and images speaking out against the horse racing event on her social media page, labeling the “race that stops the nation” as “toxic and “wrong.”
“It’s official… it’s not cute anymore,” she began her Instagram post. “Today is the real Halloween and I’ve always called it ‘Black Tuesday.’”

“Horses should not be treated that way, and no animal should be treated that way. It’s now considered an archaic sport… from “the old days”.
“Leave it there and go to something else. It’s finished. If the internet is good for a few things, this is one, that people are finally showing it and seeing it for what it really is.”
She said the breed represented “pure and total greed” and that it wouldn’t be long before the “newer generations caught on.”

“They are much wiser and will get rid of this narcissistic bullshit. I know. I feel it. It is dirty. It’s over,” she added.
“Promoting gambling and celebrating a day dedicated to the toxicity of gambling in general is just fucking wrong,” she added.
In the past, Imogen has posted several photos showing what it believes were the abuse and injuries suffered by horses at the event.

Among them was one of her own in a brown wig standing with her ex-racehorse Hunter.
“I bought Hunter from people who also care for and rehabilitate horses,” she revealed on Instagram.
“He was not mistreated or rescued, but I have many ex-racehorses at home, many of whom have anxiety problems, were terribly afraid of people and have bone and joint problems.”
