Chaotic scenes have erupted in Parliament House in Canberra with a protester glued to an artwork about the suffragettes.
On Wednesday morning around 11:30 am, photos emerged of a woman stuck to the artwork in the main building as police tried to free her.
Meanwhile, a team of federal police officers was seen escorting an elderly man out of the building who was also reportedly involved in the stunt.
Protesters have targeted artwork in major galleries around the world to send a message about climate change.
In early October, Extinction Rebellion activists glued their hands to a prized Picasso painting in the National Gallery of Victoria.
The painting was not damaged as it was protected by perspex.
