Some Yeezy staff commuted from Los Angeles to Cody, Wyoming.

Yeezy staff commuted by private jet from California to Wyoming to work close to Kanye West’s ranch.
Staff would be flown to the state on Monday mornings and return on Friday evenings, Rolling Stone reported.
West demanded Adidas open a facility in Wyoming, only for it to shut after just six months.

Yeezy staffers commuted from Los Angeles to Wyoming by private jet when Adidas briefly opened a facility near Kanye West’s rural ranch, Rolling Stone reported.

Bloomberg previously reported that Kanye West demanded Adidas set up the new facility near his Cody, Wyoming ranch, which then closed its doors within 6 months.

Staffers were flown the nearly 900-mile journey from California to Wyoming on a Monday morning, and flown back Friday night, Rolling Stone reports.

While some staff commuted, others moved to Wyoming permanently. Around 90 Yeezy staffers in total worked in the state, Rolling Stone reported.

Two Yeezy staffers told Rolling Stone that West initially planned to open a Yeezy HQ in Chicago in 2018, with workers expected to make the move immediately. The rapper-turned-fashion mogul then decided to stay put in Los Angeles, before Wyoming became the short-lived home for Yeezy.

Alongside members of the Yeezy apparel and footwear teams, music producers, architects and artists were among those who frequently took the California to Wyoming flight, Rolling Stone reported.

One Yeezy employee told the publication how different life at the company was from a normal nine-to-five: “You have an hour to get ready for a flight to Wyoming, you have to be there within three hours, and you have to have a whole presentation for him when he flies over at 1 a.m. after his show.'”

West first bought a $14 million ranch in Cody in 2019, and set about developing a “Yeezy campus.” He described his vision as a “paradigm shift for humanity” in a GQ interview. West put one of his two ranches up for sale two years later, prompting reports that he was turning his back on the ambitious plan.

The listing was taken down after nearly a year on the market, per the New York Post, but Yeezy’s base in Wyoming appears to have only lasted six months, inflicting heavy demands on its staff.

Adidas ended its nine-year relationship with West on October 25 following his antisemitic comments, and recently said that the decision would cut their 2022 income by 50%. The company now plans to release Yeezy-designed shoes under its own label.

Adidas did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
