Matty ‘J’ Johnson and Laura Byrne, both 35, have finally tied the knot, five years after meeting on The Bachelor.
The happy couple married at 3:30pm Friday in front of friends and family at the beautiful Cupitt’s Estate near Mollymook on the south coast of NSW.

The blushing bride dared to uncover in a unique dress from the KYHA bridal boutique, which featured see-through material around the midriff to accentuate her taut tummy.
The dress also featured a plunging neckline, while one arm was off-the-shoulder to reveal a glimpse of the star’s plunging neckline.
Laura and Matty’s young daughters Marlie-Mae, three, and one-year-old Lola, were flower girls at the ceremony.
Matty J looked smart in a classic black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and cute bow tie.
In a unique twist, Matty’s glamorous sister Kate served as his best man at the wedding.

The marriage comes after Laura confessed that she nearly lost her chance at love after almost pulling out of The Bachelor at the last minute.

Laura and Matty are one of the most successful couples to come out of the show, but the brunette told the I’ve Got News For You podcast that it almost didn’t happen because she got “cold feet” the day before filming started. starting in 2017.
“I completely changed my mind and didn’t want to go filming,” says Laura, who talks about her Bachelor journey in her new book We Love Love, co-written with fellow reality star Brittany Hockley.
“If you’re selected, you’ll be given a time and location, and it’s a secret time and a secret location, to try and throw off paparazzi,” she explained.

“Mine was a pick-up location in Alexandria in a random park at 3pm, and you’re supposed to get up with all your bags and a bus comes to pick you up.
“And I remember three o’clock in the afternoon coming and going and sitting at home and not packing a bag. I had just changed my mind. I really didn’t want to do it; I was worried about what it would be like to compete for a man’s attention on a reality TV show.”
Then she got a call from producers who gave her until 10am the next day to decide and she had a dream that night that made her change her mind again.
Since their meeting, Matty and Laura have become parents of two beautiful daughters.
They welcomed Marlie-Mae in 2019, followed by Lola in February 2021.
They got engaged while on holiday in Fiji in April 2018.

Laura co-hosts the popular podcast Life Uncut for ARN, and Matty hosts a finance podcast called The Penny Drops.
Matty first rose to fame on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016, before becoming The Bachelor himself a year later, where he met Laura.
Despite getting together after their stint on The Bachelor, the pair met before ever appearing on the show.
In 2017, he told OK magazine that they had run into each other in Sydney’s Bondi.
‘We crossed paths. She said something to my friend in the Icebergs sauna,” he revealed.
A separate source told the magazine: “Nobody bought that Laura and Matty first met on… [The Bachelor] mansion. They were all too familiar from the first night.’
