The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
The World Cup is a soccer tournament featuring 32 international men’s teams.
Fox and Fox Sports will air every game in the US; Peacock will stream games in Spanish.
Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup starting November 20, with 32 teams competing to claim the international championship. Fox is the tournament’s official broadcast partner in the US, though games will also stream in Spanish on Peacock.
Qatar will play against Ecuador in the tournament’s first match, as is customary for the host nation. This is the first World Cup tournament held in the Middle East, and the last before the World Cup expands to 48 teams in 2026.
France won the last World Cup in 2018 and returns as a top seed this year. Brazil is the favorite to win entering the group stages. The United States will compete in Group B of this year’s World Cup after failing to qualify for the tournament in 2018.
How to watch the 2022 World Cup
You can watch the 2022 World Cup on Fox and Fox Sports 1 in the United States starting November 20. The tournament will also stream in Spanish on Peacock, sharing the Telemundo simulcast.

What’s the tournament format for the 2022 World Cup?
The World Cup uses a two-stage format. Teams are separated into eight groups of four and play every team within their group once. The two teams with the best match records in each group will proceed into a knockout tournament bracket with 16 teams in total.
Losing teams in the knockout stage will be eliminated from the tournament, with the exception of the semifinals losers, who will play in a third-place match.
If there is a tie during the group stage, the team with the best goal differential during group play will proceed to the next round.
