A Mexican woman who flew 3,000 miles to Peru to meet a man she met online was murdered, dismembered and her organs harvested.
Blanca Arellano, 51, flew 3,000 miles from Mexico City to Lima, Peru, to meet 37-year-old Juan Pablo Jesus Villafuerte Pinto, a human medicine and biotechnology student.
The two met through a gaming app and had been in an online relationship for several months, so Blanca Arellano got on a plane to meet him in search of love.
After spending a week with Villafuerte and telling her niece that she had fallen in love with him, Blanca Arellano went missing and her family was unable to contact her.

Ms. Arellano’s family became concerned for her after not hearing from her for several days.
Her niece Karla Arellano had spoken to her before, but became concerned after being unable to contact her continuously.
Karla Arellano took to Twitter to ask for help finding her aunt: “I never thought I’d be in this situation, today I’m asking for support and spreading to one of the most loved and important people in my life to find. My aunt Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutiérrez disappeared in Peru on Monday November 7, she is of Mexican descent, we fear for her life.’
Karla Arellano wrote how she had contacted Villafuerte, the man Aunt had gone to meet, to ask him if he had heard from her.

Villafuerte claimed to Karla Arellano that her aunt bored him because he couldn’t give her the life she wanted. He told her that her aunt had left to return to Mexico.
But a few days later, on November 9, Ms. Arellano’s family’s worst fears were confirmed.
A faceless woman’s head was found on the beach near where Villafuerte lived in Huacho, Peru.
A few hours later, authorities also found a severed finger with a silver ring on it, the tip of which had been removed.
The next day, a torso with no organs was found at the end of a channel that flows into the sea.
Researchers soon discovered that the canal passes Jose Faustino Sanchez Carrion National University, where Villafuerte studies.
Forensic experts had also determined that the victim’s face had been removed by someone experienced with surgical instruments.

Traces of Blanca Arellano’s blood had also been discovered throughout Villafuerte’s apartment. He had also reportedly posted videos of her organs on TikTok days after her disappearance.
Shortly after the discovery, police arrested Villafuerte on charges of femicide, human trafficking and organ trafficking.
Villafuerte denies involvement in the crime and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
