Nottingham Forest have made an improved £16 million bid for Liverpool right-back Neco Williams.
Williams, a regular in the Wales squad, has been a target for Forest since the start of the transfer window, but they have been unable to secure his services.
Liverpool turned down the club’s opening offer for Williams as they kept the £15million price tag they had recently held onto him.

Williams caught the attention of several clubs during his impressive loan spell at Fulham
The 21-year-old was loaned to Fulham in the second half of last season and put in some impressive performances to help the Cottagers progress to the Premier League.
As a result, several clubs have expressed interest in signing the Welsh defender, who is unlikely to play for Liverpool next season following the signing of Calvin Ramsay.
Forest presented Liverpool with an opening offer for Williams last month, but the exact figure they have submitted is unknown.

Forest see Williams as a potential replacement for Djed Spence, who played on loan under Steve Cooper at City Ground last season.
Nottingham Forest, however, will face stiff competition from Fulham, Southampton and PSV Eindhoven.
The European giants have all expressed interest in the Wales international, who made just one Premier League appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season.
