The key to a good hot sauce subscription is versatility. Not only do you want a range of brands from different places, but the sauces shouldn’t all taste alike. We like Fuego’s offerings because the bottles aren’t found in every grocery store and they’re usually pretty distinctive from one another. It would be nice if the three-sauce boxes were more curated or themed in some way, but the selections seem a bit random.
After a year of using the service, we didn’t have a single repeat bottle. There wasn’t a bad sauce in the bunch, and some of them are new favorites. There are a few subscriptions to choose from, including a single bottle every month, three bottles every 90 days, or two extra-hot sauces every month.
