More than two dozen firefighters were called to battle the blaze at the MNKY HSE Latin American restaurant on Dover Street, but there were no serious injuries.
The restaurant is popular with the Love Island crowd, with celebrities dining there in August after a reunion episode.
A fire service spokesman said they were called at 9:40 p.m.

Hundreds of people were evacuated after a fire broke out at the Latin American restaurant MNKY HSE (pictured) on Dover Street in Mayfair, London tonight.
They said the incident was confined to the basement of the high-rise building.
Five fire trucks and at least 25 firefighters rushed to the scene.
The fire had been extinguished before the fire service arrived.
Some 300 people were in the restaurant and were evacuated by security personnel.
Two people were treated at the scene by London Ambulance.
They were the only people who required medical attention.
All people were accounted for and London Fire Brigade believe there were no serious injuries.
The fire service used thermal imaging to check that everything was under control.
