Strong’s final appearance coincides with Austin Butler’s night as host and Lizzo’s turn as the musical guest.
The Springfield, Illinois native joined SNL in 2012, and became a hit with audiences with roles like The Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation with at a Party.
She also distinguished herself with a memorable impersonation of Fox News opinion host Judge Jeanine Pirro.
Although she’s leaving her beloved NBC family, she’ll still be working closely with SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels.

One of her next endeavors is an Apple TV+ show Schmigadoon!, which is also produced by Michaels.
In September 2021 Strong shared a heartfelt social post as she reunited with her costars following the Covid-19 pandemic.
She gave a special shoutout to Kenan Thompson, 44, who recently hosted the People’s Choice Awards.
On the heels of the Atlanta-born comic scoring two Emmys, she wrote on Instagram: ‘Kenan Thompson is an all time great and there is nobody who can do what he does on and off camera.
‘Happy to celebrate everybody in and out of all award show rooms- but he’s a king and I’m so damn lucky to have gotten to work next to him for so many years.’

The show has seen a notable exodus of performers throughout the year, including Pete Davidson.
Others including Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney departed the comedy show in May with new names, Marcello Hernández, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker joining the weekly production.
Among the new on-air talent this season is the show’s first non-binary cast member, Molly Kearney, who uses they/them pronouns.
Last September Michaels assured fans that despite the long-running variety program approaching its 50th birthday, and him his 78th, he has no plans to call it quits.
