School administrators located the student suspect and found a loaded 9mm handgun in the student’s backpack, police said.</p> <p>The police were contacted and officers arrived at the school and took the student into custody. After processing with the Waterford Police Department, the child was transported to the Oakland County Children’s Village.</p> <p>According to the police, the child made no threats to students or staff.</p> <p>Police Chief Scott Underwood said in a press release that the circumstances surrounding the child’s possession of the gun are still under investigation.
