A grateful mother of two has thanked the stranger who “saved Christmas” when he paid for her groceries after a broker error caused her account to be drained.
The Australian mum revealed she had been at a Woolworths supermarket checkout on Friday when she realized her bill was overdrawn.
Her former real estate agency had mistakenly withheld two weeks’ rent despite her and her two sons moving in three months ago.
“To the man who just saved Christmas, I cannot express what you just did for my boys and me,” she wrote.
‘I was so embarrassed at the Woolies desk when I found out my property was two weeks’ rent – I haven’t lived there in three months.

“I was putting my groceries back when he came up and paid for my entire store. This included two toys for my boys for Christmas.’
She wrote that the “selfless” act was the boost she needed for the holidays.
“This man made our Christmas great,” she said.
“There are still great people in the world. I am so grateful to him.’
She later added that the man was her family’s “guardian angel” and his random act of kindness brought her to “ugly tears.”

The mother said she has since contacted her bank, which has requested an “urgent dispute” over the money withdrawn.
“But this can take 24 to 48 working hours (to clear),” she said.
“It’s been three months since the last payment came out, and today one came out all of a sudden.
“The bank has now placed a permanent block to prevent them from accessing funds.”
