An amateur boxer has been charged over his alleged role in a late-night brawl that erupted outside a couple’s dream wedding.
Father-of-two David Padovan, 39, is charged with initiating the melee seen outside the Grand Paradiso function center in Fairfield, western Sydney around 11pm Thursday.
Mr Padovan has been charged with brawling with police and claimed he was armed with a weapon during the scuffle.
He was arrested while recovering in hospital after suffering cuts to his hands and face.
Mr Padovan, who teaches boxing to underprivileged children, has pleaded not guilty and was released on bail on Saturday. Nine News reports.
He risks up to ten years behind bars if found guilty.

Police were called to the Grand Paradiso function center on Thursday evening after receiving reports of a brawl involving more than a dozen men.
Wedding guests were partying inside the venue, celebrating the bride and groom before a group spilled onto the street outside.
It is then clear that two men started arguing.

As their mates tried to ease the tension, footage shows one of the men allegedly throwing the first punch, leading to an all-out brawl.
The man who allegedly threw the first punch was quickly kicked to the ground, while another threw punches at him.
Footage from the wedding before tensions boiled over shows the newlyweds and guests dancing as performers play big drums.
Police expect more arrests to be made.
