Foo Fighters announce that they will continue performing after the tragic death of Taylor Hawkins

The Foo Fighters posted an emotional announcement on Twitter on Saturday, stating that they will continue to perform following the tragic death of band member Taylor Hawkins.

Hawkins sent shockwaves through the music industry when he died suddenly at the age of 50 in March during the South American leg of the Foo Fighters’ world tour.

The loss of the band’s beloved drummer left their future in doubt, but heartbroken fans can now take comfort in the knowledge that the legendary rockers will continue to perform.

At the beginning of their powerful statement, the band wrote, “As we bid farewell to the most difficult and tragic year our band has ever known, we are reminded how grateful we are for the people we love and support the most. cherish the most, and for the beloved ones who are no longer with us.’

The Everlong hitmakers continued, “Foo fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life.”

“And over the past 27 years, our fans have built a global community, a dedicated support system that has helped us all through the darkest of times.”

“A place to share our joys and our pains, our hopes and fears, and to sing together in a chorus of life.”

“Without Taylor,” the band wrote, “we would never have become the band we were – and without Taylor, we know we will be a different band in the future.”

Concluding their statement, the rock stars wrote, “We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he did to you. And we know that when we see you again – and we will soon – he will be there in our thoughts every night.”

The Foo Fighters’ huge and devoted fan base was undoubtedly touched by the band’s moving statement.

Heart emojis filled the comments section, with many declaring their abiding love for the band.

“I love you so much!” wrote one fan. “You have been with me almost all my life. I haven’t been able to listen to your music since Taylor passed away, but this post gives me hope to do so again.”

The band reunited in September for a pair of emotional tribute concerts to commemorate Hawkins and celebrate his life.

The first concert took place across the Atlantic on September 3rd at London’s Wembley Stadium, bringing together a star-studded line-up of rock icons for a six-hour mega show.

The second tribute concert took place in Los Angeles on September 27 at The Kia Forum, filling the stage with everyone from Miley Cyrus and Pink to Dave Chappelle and Brian May.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl addressed the audience at the London show: “We’ve come together to give you a giant f**king night for a giant f**king person. So sing and laugh and dance and f**king scream and f**king make some noise so he can hear us now!

“Because you know what,” he added. “It’s going to be a long night!”
