NEW MEXICO – The Santa Fe District Attorney has officially charged Alec Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust.”
The charges follow DA Mary Carmack-Altweis’s announcement to prosecute the case, which stems from the fatal shooting that occurred at the Bonzana Creek Ranch near Santa Fe on October 21, 2021. The DA filed a 10-page statement of probable cause on Tuesday, supporting the charges against Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed.

Additionally, the film’s assistant director, David Halls, has agreed to a plea deal for a single count of negligent use of a deadly weapon, with a suspended sentence and 6 months of probation. Prosecutors claim Halls provided Baldwin with the gun that killed Hutchins, while Gutierrez-Reed was responsible for weapons on the set.
