Brooke Blurton has claimed that she was not notified by the producers of The Bachelorette that her sister had passed away shortly after filming last year.
The 27-year-old said on Friday that her sister died “during post-production” while spending time with her winning admirer Darvid Garayeli in the days following filming of the finale.
She claimed on Nova’s Two girls one pod podcast, hosted by Angie Kent and Yvie Jones, that she wasn’t told about her relative’s death until later.

“My sister died after production, literally the day I said goodbye to Darvid after our two or three day rendezvous. My sister is dead and I haven’t been fucking informed yet,” she said.
“And that’s the reality of my world. I am this bachelor. I’m a really glamorous person, and you say, “No, like my sister has schizophrenia or has had schizophrenia.”
‘She has a history of drug and alcohol use, and this is where she died. And I jump in the car to be sent to an Airbnb [with Darvid] and that’s a real reality of my life,” Brooke added.

The memoir will also chronicle her experiences in reality TV, her mother’s suicide when she was just 11, and her traumatic childhood marred by sexual assault and drug-fueled violence.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia in April, Brooke said she was inspired to write her book because she wanted to “normalize situations and experiences that other young people might have had throughout their lives”.

She said it was “hard” to relive past trauma, but she wanted to “own” her story.
Brooke, a Noongar-Yamatji woman from Western Australia, added: ‘The book has very cathartic moments.
“I think it’s very enlightening in some ways that I can look at it [my life] afterwards and say, “Wow, I’ve done so much, and I’ve only just started.”‘
