Enzo Zidane, son of France and Real Madrid legend Zinedine, has signed for Spanish third division team Fuenlabrada.

Zidane joins Fuenlabrada on a one-year deal to sign for a seventh team since leaving Real Madrid in 2017.

The midfielder’s most recent stint was with Rodez in the French Second Division, where he failed to score or assist in 16 games after arriving as a free agent.

Zidane struggled with Rodez, a side that Zidane senior can boast of as one of their investors, starting just four games with just 444 minutes – six minutes to five full games.

At Fuenlabrada, Zidane has now played for five Spanish clubs since leaving the most successful club in Champions League history, playing just once for Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey.

His most successful spell since leaving Real Madrid Castilla was a loan spell with Majadahonda in the 2018-19 season.

While playing in Spain’s Segunda Division, he managed to provide an assist, made 33 appearances and also played in the Copa del Rey, before returning to Switzerland’s Lausanne-Sport at the end of the season.

Enzo is one of the four footballing sons of the French great, with brothers Theo and Elyaz still on the books at Real’s Castilla and U17 respectively.

Goalkeeper Luca Zidane is a free agent and left LaLiga Rayo Vallecano in July 2022 after two seasons with the club.
