Former US President Donald Trump is urging golfers, including Australian Cam Smith, to take the LIV Golf money on offer before it’s too late.
It comes as relatives of the victims of the horrific 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington have appealed to the ex-POTUS to end its support of the Saudi-backed rebel league, but their calls have fallen on deaf ears .
Smith could earn a $132 million payday if he signs up with LIV Golf this week, as expected
The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster will be the venue for the next LIV Golf competition, which will take place July 29-31.
Trump National course at Doral in Florida has also been confirmed for an LIV competition in October.
A large number of new players are expected to be signed by the Rebel Tour before then, as the PGA Tour majors season has come to an end.

The new additions are reportedly likely to be Australians Cam Smith, Adam Scott and Marc Leishman, and Smith is expected to sign a $132 million deal after his heroic British Open.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform this week to urge Smith and other top golfers to join LIV now or risk missing out entirely.
All those golfers who remain ‘loyal’ to the deeply disloyal PGA, in all its various forms, will pay a great price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes along, and you’ll get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who millions of dollars a year,” Trump wrote.
“If you don’t take the money now, you’ll get nothing after the merger, and just say how smart the original signatories were,” he added.
Meanwhile, a group of relatives of 9/11 victims have written an open letter to the former president urging him to end his involvement in the Saudi-backed league.

Of the 15 men involved in 9/11, 11 were Saudi citizens.
“We just can’t understand how you agree to accept money from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s golf league to host their tournament on your golf course, and that in the shadow of Ground Zero in New Jersey, which lost more than 700 residents.” during the attacks,” the group wrote in the letter.
“It is difficult for us to fully express the extreme pain, frustration and anger this upcoming tournament in Bedminster is causing our community…it is incomprehensible to us that a former president of the United States would put our loved ones aside for personal financial gain. ‘
