President Zelensky said his 10-year-old son had been experiencing a lack of “warm moments” with his father during the conflict in Ukraine.
Survival expert Bear Grylls traveled across Ukraine to meet with Zelensky in Kiev in November 2022, for an interview that was broadcast on Channel 4.
The Ukrainian leader also said that Russian soldiers raped children in front of their parents and that thousands of children were “deported” to Russia from occupied territories.
He described the first day of the all-out invasion as the “toughest moment” in the fighting so far, and said that some officials did not believe there would be an invasion until the last minute.
Since the beginning of the war, Zelensky was often away from his family and told Grylls that his then nine-year-old son, Kyrillo, was finding it difficult to be separated from his father.

President Zelensky said, “Sometimes, I have four to six hours to be with them (his family). It’s very hard for my son, you know, this age, so for him it’s a really difficult situation because he needs the father and we don’t have enough warm moments.”

Ukraine’s wartime leader said there was a “long list” of things needed for peace and added that he did not think the fighting would end until Putin was “alone”.

Chief Scout also visited Irpin, a town near Kiev that was a major battleground early in the invasion.
He spoke to a local journalist in Kiev, Elena Polyakova, whose father died in the conflict. She was sad and heartbroken that he would never be serious.

The latest was Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom, who praised the “incredibly stoic nature” of the Ukrainian people and encouraged Zelensky to “win the war”.
The couple was seen in footage at the presidential palace in the capital, where they discussed humanitarian projects and reconstruction efforts to help Ukraine’s children.
