Half back sharks Nicho Hynes has announced that he wants a 20-year contract with the club, after also revealing his long-term desire to become an NRL coach once he is suspended.
The 26-year-old arrived in the Shire last season from the Melbourne Storm and captained Cronulla to a second-place finish.
Haynes then won the Dally M, which saw his value skyrocket.
Speaking on SEN, Haynes announced his intention to end his career with the Sharks before taking a coaching role.
He is also expected to soon extend his current playing deal until 2028.

“There have been conversations, everyone talks about it a little bit,” Haynes told SEN Radio.
‘I just hope something happens and gets done, my manager will sort that out and the club will sort that out, so I hope they talk as we speak because I’d love to stay…then hopefully I’ll be here forever.
“Ideally, I’d like to be here for the rest of my career, and then I’d like to go straight into coaching… (so) give me a 20-year contract with the Sharks.”
Hines went on to explain how he did He “always wanted” to move into coaching because of his love of “helping people”.
“Yes I have (I have ambition to become a coach), I have always said I want to be a coach, I just love it,” he said.
I love helping people, I love helping little kids achieve their dreams.
“So I hope to be a coach one day handing out a jersey for the first time, and that’s the ultimate (dream) for me, and I’d love to do that.”

I could become a development coach, then an assistant, and then one day make my career and become a head coach, that would be great.
“I know I have to start somewhere….so if I can become an assistant at NRL level or a developmental coach I would be happy to do so, but coaching is definitely for me.”
The Pistol half-back was sensational in his first game of the season last Sunday in the derby against the Dragons, Finishing with seven line breaks and four attempts help his name.
Hynes’ sparkling performance in the NRL is all the more remarkable given his troubles off the field.
