Frenkie de Jong has no interest in moving to Manchester United because he hates the city and believes the club is run erratically, a new report in Spain says.
United reached a £71.5m deal with Barcelona, but the issuance of more than £17million in deferred wages and bonuses owed to the midfielder has brought any move to a halt.
Now, Spanish outlet Sport has claimed that De Jong has absolutely no interest in moving to Old Trafford this summer and would rather go to Chelsea if he were pushed out of Barcelona for a move to the Premier League.
De Jong does not want to leave Barcelona, but the Catalan giants have to deduct him from the wage bill to register their new signings – including Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen – with LaLiga.

Barcelona have made no secret of poking around with De Jong and he has been Manchester United’s main target all summer, with club chiefs Richard Arnold and John Murtough recently spotted in the Spanish city trying to strike a deal.
But Sport’s brand new report claims the player has no interest whatsoever in moving to Manchester, a city he is not a fan of.
He is also said to be very concerned about United’s functioning as the player believes it is run ‘irregularly’ by management.
A third factor working against United is that they cannot offer him Champions League football next season, as they have only managed to secure Europa League football before Ten Hag’s arrival.
While De Jong is unwilling to accept being pushed out of his dream club Barcelona, it has been reported that Chelsea, not Manchester United, would be his choice in England.
He is ‘not closed’ to the idea of a move to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea pride themselves on Champions League football and De Jong would appreciate the ‘project’ and ‘structure’ being built under new controlling owner Todd Boehly .
London is also seen as a ‘very attractive city’ to live in for De Jong and his fiancée Mikky Kiemeney.
