The MailOnline has exclusively revealed that an American soldier and his British wife are among three people arrested for shooting twice at a father and son in Cambridgeshire as part of a custody dispute.
The 27-year-old soldier, from Ohio, is believed to be part of the US Air Force stationed in the UK.
He is being held with his wife, 33, and her father, 66, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
They are being questioned over the shooting of Joshua Dunmore and his father Gary Dunmore – first picked up by MailOnline today – late Wednesday night.
Joshua, 32, was found dead in a home on a luxury new property in Bluntcham late Wednesday night after police received reports of gunshots. Half an hour later, his father, Gary, 57, was also found dead in his flat in Sutton, about six miles away.
Cambridgeshire Police said yesterday they feared the two may have been killed in a custody battle.

She added in memory: ‘I’ll remember catching my smile like you always told me when I had the face of a whore at the gym. SIBA will never be the same without you and your clever ways.

“He was a very caring person,” a close friend told the Mail.
Cambridgeshire Police say there was a “domestic element” to the killings which took place on Wednesday night and fear the two may have been the victims of a “target attack”, with the custody battle becoming an “active line of inquiry”.

The younger couple were held at a hotel near Cambridge in the early hours and the older man was held in a dramatic capture operation on the M5 near Droitwich, Worcestershire, more than 100 miles away as officers used a stinging device to stop a white Peugeot. A gun was reportedly found.
Chief Superintendent John Hutchinson said: “At this point, we are not looking for any other people in connection with the incident. Once that family relationship is established, it becomes absolutely clear why this attack occurred and this is clearly a targeted and isolated attack.”
He added, “The line of investigation we are focusing on is that these detained persons are known to the deceased and had contact with them recently.”

He said the two people arrested at the hotel were “from the local area but we are trying to establish where they have been staying in recent days,” adding that forensic work is continuing to determine if the same weapon was used on both. locations, along with an investigation into whether the firearm found was legally owned.
