Kate Ferdinand has revealed the fears that kept her from enjoying her first pregnancy.

The former TOWIE star, 31, is currently expecting her second child — a girl — with husband Ryo, 44, after welcoming their son Cree to the world in December 2020.

Speaking on her blended podcast, Kate compared her two pregnancies: “When I was pregnant with my firstborn, I was more than that, I didn’t want my body to get big, I was like ‘Oh my God, I’m going to get fat’ or ‘I’m not doing this.. .

Then all of a sudden I felt this gratitude that I’m actually growing a human right now and none of that mattered.

“It actually made me able to, I never thought I’d say this…but I’m enjoying my campaign more.”

On Friday, Kate revealed that her son, Cree, had surgery after suffering a “freak accident.”

Kate said she was a “total emotional wreck” after the little boy, aged two, broke a bone in his finger and needed surgery to fix the injury.

Sharing a photo of Led Cree covered in bandages from the hospital, she apologized to her fans for the “radio silence” and explained what happened.

“Sorry for the radio silence, my poor kid had a freak accident Tuesday and ended up breaking a bone in his finger and then needing nail bed surgery,” she wrote.

“I’m a complete emotional momo right now,” Kate continued.

The TV personality is stepmother to Rio’s three children Laurens, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 11 — whose mother Rebecca sadly passed away after a battle with cancer in 2015 — and they have Cree together.

This week, Kate revealed that she still carries the emotional scars of losing her baby after suffering a devastating miscarriage last year.

The former TOWIE star opened up on the latest episode of her Blended podcast, admitting that although she’s currently feeling great, she was having a rough first trimester because of the constant worry about getting pregnant again.

The reality TV personality explained that she still finds “every scan terrifying” because of her past experiences, the pregnancy loss has changed her “view of life for the better”.

Kate and her soccer player husband, Rio, lost their baby boy last summer after an absence of a heartbeat was discovered during a 12-week scan.

Kate said: I’m pregnant, I’m so glad I did. I was very anxious and worried about getting pregnant after the loss.

At the moment, I feel pretty good. In the first trimester, it was a lot in the air because Rio was so far away and not getting kicks or movement.

The TV personality has sadly admitted to specialist Zoe Clark Coates that the scans give her great anxiety.

‘Several times (in the first trimester) I went for an emergency check-up thinking something was wrong and I wasn’t in the best of vacuum,’ she said. Each scan is still terrifying. The moment you sit on this bed is scary.

The moment you sit on this bed, you will think “what will happen”. Despite it all, I try to turn what I’ve been through into gratitude.

The star, who is expecting a baby girl, revealed that the gratitude technique made it easier for her and she was able to enjoy her pregnancy despite its ups and downs.
