Jonnie Irwin shared adorable snaps from a music festival he attended last year with his son as he’s looking forward to returning in the summer.
The A Place In The Sun presenter, 50, was only given six months to live when he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in August 2020, and made his predictions public in December. The cancer has spread to his brain.
Posting on Instagram on Sunday, he shared a bunch of heartwarming snaps of him and son Rex, three, at the Lindisfarne Festival.
One photo taken last year shows the couple in their campervan, with Johnny looking into the camera alongside a sleeping Rex.
Johnny, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday though admits he was “frail and fragile but still here”.

In another sweet snap, a grinning Rex goes from ear to ear as he licks ice cream.
Clearly amused by the festival’s goodies, he poses alongside a candy floss elsewhere.
He captioned the post: “Went this last year – can’t wait for another campervan experience with our boy!”
Primal Scream and Pendulim are the headliners at the festival in Northumberland which runs from 31st August until 3rd September.
Sharing a promotional video to Instagram Stories, Jonnie added: ‘I went to this one last year and had a great time. Praying for good weather Rex was probably praying for more sugar! #lindisfarnefestival. “
Fans encouraged Johnny to stay positive with one saying, “You make beautiful memories.”
Another added: “Save it all for you.”
Another person said: “Another great moment between boy and father.”

It comes after Jonnie shared a heartbreaking update on his health last week.
during an interview with the sunJohnny bluntly said, “Now I’m weak, fragile and my memory is terrible…but I’m still here.”
Then Johnny, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this week, explained: ‘I tried to play football with Rex the other day and I was in the goal and couldn’t get close to the ball. He was very disappointed.
“I’m very athletic and all of a sudden it was like it was my first time trying to play football. I felt like a grandfather. And that broke me a bit.
During the interview, Jess recalled the moment Johnny came home and told her his final diagnosis: ‘He couldn’t stop apologizing. He kept saying ‘sorry’ over and over and I kept telling him it wasn’t his fault.”
She added, “I think I still deny a lot of it if I’m being honest.”
The father of three was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020 and given months to live.
The TV presenter initially decided to keep his illness private but it was made public after one year.
Johnny recently spoke about his condition, saying he’s trying to make as many memories as possible with his wife, Jessica, and their three children.
It comes after Johnny said he plans to record video messages so he can talk to his beloved wife and three children after his death.
He presented a segment about digital legacy on Morning Live earlier this month and left hosts Rav Wilding and Kimberley Walsh with “goosebumps.”
The Escape To The Country host said he’s “taking every opportunity” to give wife Jessica and their three kids a bright future when he’s not here.
After watching a clip about how a woman battling stage 4 bowel cancer recorded a short clip every day for her loved ones to watch after she’s gone, Johnny said he plans to do the same.
It’s amazing to think that I can also talk to my wife and children after I die. My diagnosis took a lot out of me but gave me the ability to prepare.
Last month, Jonnie gave fans a health update, revealing that he’s started hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
A hyperbaric chamber is a high-pressure chamber or tube where a patient is given pure oxygen to breathe.

At this high atmospheric pressure, the lungs are able to absorb more oxygen than under normal conditions.
Jonnie shared a snapshot of the portable room he was using after walking to the High Level Bridge Across Therapy Center in Newcastle.
Writing: “At the end of this walk…is this…hyperbaric oxygen therapy.”
It’s believed that flooding the body with concentrated oxygen can help make it easier to kill cancer cells with treatments like chemotherapy and radiation while also stimulating your body’s healing process.
However, other studies have seen mixed and inconclusive results in the past with some believing it to be ineffective.
