Revered golf expert Brandel Chamblee has responded to a scathing public swipe from Greg Norman, posting a text message on social media highlighting the Australian sporting legend’s breathtaking hypocrisy.
It follows Norman, the CEO of the rebel LIV tour, who earlier this week called Chamblee a “paid talking bobblehead” after the analyst criticized the Saudi Arabia-funded breakout series on the Gulf Channel.
With a reported $3 billion in financial aid, LIV Golf has been accused of “sportswashing” due to the human rights record in the country.
“I find it laughable,” said an excited Norman, when questioned on Tuesday about Chamblee’s vocal stance.
‘Has Brandel Chamblee ever been to Saudi Arabia? Did he ever build a golf course in a third world country? He is a paid talking bobblehead. That’s all he is.’

Norman later added that Chamblee “has my number” but that he “never picked up a phone and asked me a question.”
Chamblee reacted cheekily, posting a screenshot on Twitter of a previous text exchange the couple had.

The revelation makes Norman look like a fool – and a liar.
Chamblee added alongside the screenshot: “Greg Norman *to* Brandel Chamblee Before I knew it, he was being paid by the murderous Saudi regime to exercise.
“Funny how when I call it ‘as I see it’ about LIV, it’s not so refreshing for Greg.”

Meanwhile, Swedish star Henrik Stenson has been stripped of the captaincy of Team Europe’s Ryder Cup.
It takes just hours for the 2016 British Open winner to announce that he would be moving from the PGA tour to LIV Golf.
“In light of the decisions Henrik has made regarding his personal circumstances, it has become clear that he will be unable to fulfill certain contractual obligations,” Ryder Cup Europe said in a statement on Wednesday.
“And so it’s not possible for him to continue in the role of captain.”
Other prominent players who have jumped to the LIV tour in recent weeks include Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.
