“Clear lie!”: Baumgart rages after Passlack rumors

Coach Steffen Baumgart reacted angrily to media reports about negotiations between his Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln and Felix Passlack from Dortmund before the transfer ban.

“He’s a player whose contract is expiring and who, from our point of view, also has a high quality. You can speculate about that, especially if you know our situation. I can deal with that,” he said after training: “With what I can can’t handle is when they say we spoke to the player because that’s a blatant lie.”

In addition, Baumgart admitted that the current one-year transfer ban by FIFA, against which FC has appealed, makes planning more difficult. “It’s normal for them to wait and see in our situation. It’s also normal for one or the other to make a different decision,” said Baumgart.

If the appeal to the International Sports Court Cas is unsuccessful, FC should not sign any players for two transfer periods. The club is accused of inciting a young player to break a contract.
