Guru, the studio behind the animated hit paw patrol, works together with Foundation Media Partners and global leader in the cheerleading industry Varsity Spirit for a new animated series starring cheer breakthrough Morgan Simianer.
The companies are evolving Spirits of Ridgeway High, a story about optimistic cheerleader Melissa Mayfield, who will voice Simianer. While on a mission to lead her last-place cheer squad to victory, Melissa discovers that both cheer and music have secret magical powers. Now she and her teammates must work together to master their powers and keep their school safe.
“I am beyond excited to be a part of this amazing project,” Simianer said in a statement. “As someone who knows firsthand the power of school spirit, I can’t wait for the public to see the world we’ve created. This show will be a must-watch for anyone who enjoys animation, cheerleading and magic.”
The former reality star will also serve as an executive producer and cheerleader on the series.

Varsity Spirit has become a driving force behind cheerleading’s growing influence and profile, as well as its modern transformation into a high-energy sport, while maintaining a focus on the educational curriculum and advancing safety standards. According to company president Bill Seely, the series “embodies our commitment to the sport of cheerleading”.

The unique collaboration between Guru, Varsity Spirit and Foundation Media promises to be a coming-of-age story “that addresses important issues facing children today,” said Patrick Hughes, founder and CEO of Foundation Media Partners, who was behind the takeover of the 2022 DreamWorks Animation hit The bad guys. He added: “Morgan has undeniable talent. She is in a unique position to tell a story that authentically captures the heart and soul of this sport.”
In 2020, Simianer signed with CAA after appearing prominently in the first season of Netflix’s docuseries cheer, who followed the national championship-winning competitive cheerleading team from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. Since her appearance on the show, she has become an influencer, collaborating with brands such as Buick, American Eagle, and Secret Deodorant.
