A Washington city councilman is under heat for posting racy photos to promote his tour of local middle and high schools and has a “Harry and Meghan” sized psyche in doing so.
Josh Benda, 23, was elected in 2021 as the youngest African American to win public office in the history of the city of Linwood and Washington state.
He’s been going on a “Love Conquers All” speaking tour through various schools in the area, and has recently expanded to go to other schools in the state and country, where He says Talk to them about the importance of leading with love and following their dreams.
Benda, the Black Lives Matter activist and progressive who beat a veteran politician to win the seat, posted a photo of himself shirtless to promote the tour and make big statements about his abilities as a leader in doing so.
Addressing the minors directly, Benda wrote: “As I prepare to speak at more conferences and schools in and out of state here soon, I’ve had time to reflect on my first tour here and how much it all really means to me,” she plans to speak with.

He commented, “I truly consider myself a transformational leader for our generation.” “Someone who aims to change the culture and make the change that makes a difference in this world.”
He added, “I am not necessarily the leader the system wants, but I am the leader the system needs and I am here to shake things up and break barriers for future generations.”
The photo sparked a backlash on social media and made its way out of the area.

One Facebook commenter added: “Unbecoming for a council member, but an even worse sex ad for his Junior and school tours.”
The tour has already sparked controversy, however Linwood Times Noting that he was receiving $14,000 in speaking fees from schools.
Benda blasted that article’s author, Mario Lutmore, who is also the newspaper’s publisher, saying that he himself is a former state senate candidate and has “made it his mission (to) demolish me because they see influence and power.” You have it over the next generation and you don’t like it.

Benda — the son of Liberian immigrants who literally won a government lottery to allow him into America before he was born — was a political science major at a state university when he won his first election, according to King 5.
A public role in the Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota led him to seek public office.
He defeated Linda Otter, a former councilwoman who had already served before he was born, With more than 500 votes.
He was twice convicted of campaign finance laws, using thousands of dollars in campaign money for himself, and months delaying his filing after the election.
Binda was fined $1,000 for these violations.
He is also currently facing a city investigation for making a promotional video for the lucrative tour of the city council chambers.
