S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole has passed away at the age of 46.
The singer was found dead at his home in Dorset on Thursday, and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The news is said to have come as a “shock” to his fellow band members, including ex-girlfriend Hannah Spiritit who was left “inconsolable”.
A statement released by his family read: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our beloved son and brother, Paul Cattermole.
Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

Tragic news: While the cause of his death has not been revealed, the band’s manager reportedly said there were “no suspicious circumstances.”
It continued: ‘While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police have confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
Paul’s family, friends and fellow S Club members require privacy at this time.
The band paid tribute to Paul on Twitter, writing, “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul.
There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so fortunate to have him in our lives and we are grateful for the wonderful memories we have.
He will be sorely missed by each of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and the band at this time.
‘She’s absolutely devastated,’ a source close to his ex-girlfriend and bandmate Hannah Spearritt told MailOnline.
“Hannah is unbearable. This came as such a huge shock, and she struggles to believe that he is no longer with us.
The worst happened just as they rekindled their friendship. The whole band is in pieces.
They were all looking forward to the reunion tour and reliving their amazing memories together. Paul was and always will be a huge part of Hannah’s journey. Now, she’s just beside herself.
With the band announcing his death this afternoon in honor, fans left their own fond memories of the popular star.
Gilan Salah wrote: ‘RIP Paul Cattermole. I was obsessed with S Club 7 when I was young, had a huge crush on Hannah and Bradley, and even watched their TV series Miami 7 with my sister and grandpa on my old Gramps TV.
Their songs always lifted my spirit and made me feel like dancing. Sad news.’
Elizabeth Bond said on Twitter that the musician made her remember the happy times in her life.

She said: ‘Really shocked and sorry to hear that. I saw S Club 7 in 2002 with a friend of mine.
We were about 10 years older than the average audience, but I still felt nostalgic for that innocent and fun time. RIP Paul and condolences to your loved ones.
“This is so bloody sad,” said JenWren. My boyfriend and I watched S Club a few years ago in Echo Square, and reveled in our youth. Rest in peace Paul.’
Ellie Walker added: “This is so sad. Paul is ripped. He was a huge part of my childhood. My thoughts are with you all and his loved ones.”

The tragic news comes shortly after Paul and his ex-girlfriend Hannah rekindle their friendship and call an end to their seven-year feud.
Hannah and Paul’s friendship predates the creation of the noughties group after they became friends as teenagers at the National Youth Musical Theatre.
They first maintain their romance with Paul and it is later revealed that he would sneak in and out of Hannah’s house in the wee hours of the morning to avoid being discovered by fans.

News of Paul’s untimely death comes just weeks after S Club 7 announced they will reunite for an 11-date tour of the UK and Ireland, performing classics like Reach, Bring It All Back and Never Had A Dream.
Fans of the group will not only remember S Club for their music after the band including Rachel Stevens, 44, Tina Barrett, 46, Jon Lee, 40, Bradley McIntosh, 41, and Jo O’Meara, 43, also starred. BBC series Miami 7 and Los Angeles 7.
All seven members of the group agreed to come back, and they were mentored by music mogul Simon Fuller – the man who brought them together in 1998 after the Spice Girls, his former band, quit as their manager.
He called each of the seven stars in person to propose the project and made it clear that it would only work if they all agreed.
Speaking of getting back together, the band said: ‘After eight years, it’s amazing to announce that we’re getting together again and performing together again.
We are so excited to bring the S Club party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7. We can’t even believe it’s been so long!
Music and friendship have always been at the heart of everything we’ve ever done. We hope everyone will join us for one big party! “
S Club 7 has recorded four studio albums, released 11 singles which have all entered the Top 5 of the UK charts, and have gone on to sell over 10 million albums worldwide.
In 2002, Paul sent shock waves through S Club 7’s global fanbase when he stunningly announced that he was leaving the band citing “creative differences”.
The band announced its split the following year.
Paul hit a rocky road after leaving the band, going bankrupt in 2015 and even putting a Brit Award up for sale on eBay saying, “There are bills to pay.”
He admitted trying to sign up for reality shows like I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Dancing on Ice but is told he is not “famous enough”.
During an appearance on Loose Women in 2018, he admitted that he ran out of money and had to borrow a T-shirt for the show.
The following year he made an emotional appearance on View dating firstdates hotel.
The star went on a date with music lover Anna, but after letting him down gently, he cried on camera and asked for a “moment” to get himself together.
“I’m always here for Paul,” said bandmate Tina at the time. It’s hard to see someone I’ve worked with seem to be struggling.
Touching his life after the group disbanded, Paul revealed how his mental health had worsened and that things were “difficult” in his life.
He told how he knew there were “trouble and turbulent times” coming when he touched on declaring bankruptcy in 2014.
However, he knew there was hope on the horizon as he began to have strong senses of energy and knew he was “called to do something else.”
After their split in 2003, the band went in different directions.
Rachel has pursued a solo music career and finished as runner-up in Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.
Mother of two daughters, Tora and Taya, Hannah has enjoyed an acting career, performing on the likes of BBC One series EastEnders and British drama Primeval.
In 2021, Paul launched a new YouTube channel called Tarot Me This, inviting fans to donate in exchange for a reading, explaining that “clairvoyance” is his new line of work.
He later reveals that he hid his psychic abilities from the rest of S Club 7 because he was afraid it would make him look “crazy”.
The pop star traded in his microphone for tarot cards after reinventing himself as a ‘spiritual psychic detective’, earning money by charging £39.99 to read on a spiritual website.

Paul explained how he enters the chambers and reads “the energy within them”, adding that the older he gets, the better he can “process” what is going on.
Leaving his pop career behind him, Paul has spent a decade honing his skills to build the career he is today, but has told how his abilities first emerge in his teens, before becoming more “intense” in his twenties.
But at the height of his fame during his time in the S Club, Paul admitted that he couldn’t tell the truth about his abilities for fear of looking crazy.
He said: ‘I didn’t know what it was but I was getting warnings of certain things. I’d see pictures of people in newspapers and certain things about them would just jump out of the picture. Then in my 20s it got more intense, but I couldn’t tell anyone, even my bandmates, because I’d sound like crazy.
