NNA – China has launched a 3-day military exercise in the Taiwan Strait, which the Chinese military said constitutes a “stern warning” to “separatist forces” on the island, according to AFP.
“These operations are a stern warning against collusion between the separatist forces seeking Taiwan independence and outside forces, and against their provocative activities,” military spokesman Shi Yi said in a statement.
The Chinese army announced that the goal of the 3-day military exercises is “combat readiness” in the Taiwan Strait, amid tension with the island after Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen met with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives.
