A PE teacher known for transforming her body in her 40s has revealed the one food she eats every week to stay at peak health: oysters.
The 45-year-old mother of two, from the Gold Coast, is fitter now than she was in her 20s after she swapped cardio for resistance training and made simple swaps to her diet.
She says oysters play a major role in her health, inside and out, and should be consumed on a weekly basis.
Sea oysters are a rich source of vitamin D, copper, zinc and manganese. This micronutrient, along with calcium, is believed to be key to slowing or even preventing bone loss in older women due to osteoporosis, said the health and physical advisor.
Oysters enhance sexual performance and libido, thanks to their high zinc content. Zinc is also associated with ED and is also beneficial for fetal development in women. Premenopausal women need about twice as much.

Belinda (pictured in her 20s now) was known to prefer cardio over resistance training when she was younger, and now has a more balanced approach.
“Iron is key to the formation of red blood cells in the body. It is the primary defense against anemia, also known as iron deficiency, which can lead to fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, stomach upsets and general muscle weakness.”
Belinda also said that they can be good for the heart due to the high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to be important when it comes to the body’s ability to heal itself.
“Zinc is also important for the proper growth and development of children and adults, as well as maintaining bodily functions for people of all ages,” she said.

“Bring a bag of carrots and cucumbers next time you’re at the supermarket and snack on them,” she said.
Belinda also said that oysters can be good for the heart due to their high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to be important when it comes to the body’s ability to heal itself.
“Eat them responsibly as a delicacy and an occasional treat, and you can enjoy the incredible wealth of health benefits that they offer, and you can even help your depleted mineral levels.”
Belinda also eats three specific foods each day to stay healthy: two raw carrots and one cucumber.
The fiber in carrots helps keep blood sugar levels in check, while eating cucumber hydrates the body and leads to health benefits including weight loss, balanced hydration, digestive regularity, and lower blood sugar levels.
“Next time you’re at the supermarket, grab a bag of carrots and cucumbers and have a snack,” she said.
