A group of complete strangers banded together to rescue a man after his car flipped over, leaving him trapped inside with a badly broken arm.
CCTV captured the moment the man in his 60s crashed into a parked vehicle in St James, Perth, causing it to flip over.
Footage shows the driver instinctively stretching his arm out the window to brace for impact as the vehicle rolled and was left severely crushed.
A gang of six men rushed to the wreckage in an attempt to free the driver before paramedics arrived to treat him.
“I was just connecting my trailer to the car and heard a big bang, looked across and a car was on its side,” Good Samaritan Chris Brehaut told 7News.
“He was just in a lot of pain, his right arm was quite broken with a lot of blood, but he was conscious and talking to us.
“But just a lot of pain.”
After discussion among the group, they decided it would be best not to run the car for fear it could have made a bad situation worse.
Instead, the group stabilized the car until paramedics arrived and took the necessary steps to free the man.
