WhatsNew2Day – Latest News And Breaking Headlines

The four victims of the Louisville, Kentucky, mass shooting have been identified, and one of them was a close personal friend of Governor Andy Beshear.

Tommy Elliott, 63; Joshua Barrick, 40; James C. Tutt, 64; and Juliana Farmer, 57, were brutally murdered early Monday morning by lone gunman Connor Sturgeon.

Elliott, the bank’s senior vice president, was a friend of Governor Beshear who previously donated $2,000 to his campaign in 2018 and has donated to several Democratic candidates over the years.

He was well known in state and local Democratic circles and served on Bashir’s inaugural committee in 2019.

Tutt was, according to LinkedIn, the CRE market executive for the south district of Old National Bank, where the shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Barikh, who appears to have a wife and two young children, was a senior vice president of commercial real estate banking at the bank, where he had been working since last August, according to his LinkedIn.

Al-Falah – a mother and a grandmother – was a loan analyst.

Thomas Elliott, 63, a “close” friend of Governor Andy Beshear, died Monday morning in a mass shooting at the Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky.

James C. Tott, 64, was a market executive at Old National Bank who was murdered Monday morning.

Today I’m in pain and in pain and I know a lot of people out there too. “We lost four of God’s children today, one of whom was one of my close friends,” Governor Bashir said earlier in the day.

Tommy Elliott helped me build my career in law, helped me become a governor, and gave me advice on being a good father. One of the people I talk to the most in the world and we rarely talk about my job.

Rookie police officer Nicholas Wilt, 26, was shot in the head and remains in critical condition.

Sturgeon, according to authorities, was a bank employee who had been terminated or who knew he was about to be terminated.

The “lone gunman” broke into a meeting room at the Old National Bank shortly after 8:30 am – about half an hour before the branch opened to the public.

The shooter was carrying an AR-15 rifle, and nine people were injured, including two police officers.

Three victims have since been released from hospital.

Later, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear responded with tears when he revealed that two of his friends were killed in the atrocity — while a third was wounded. “I have a close friend who didn’t make it,” he said at a news conference. “And I have someone else who hasn’t, either.”

The Democrat said his campaign for state attorney general sold out of the building. “I know almost everyone in it,” he said, “that’s my bank.”

During the shooting, he heard on police scanners that Sturgeon was suicidal and sent his friend a message that he was “going to shoot the bank.”

The gunman was also killed in the shooting, but it was not clear if he died from his wounds or from the injuries he sustained during the gunfight with officers at the scene.

Joshua Parikh, 40, the bank’s vice president of commercial real estate, was also killed by the lone gunman.

Juliana Farmer, 57, a mother and grandmother, was also killed in the shooting

Officer Nicola Wilt (centre), 26, was shot in the head and is in critical condition.

Bank employees recounted how they fled the bloodstained scene and rushed into the basement to hide from the killer as he attacked the building. Pictures showed shattered glass and pools of blood lying in front of the office.

Witnesses said the alleged shooter was carrying a “long assault rifle” when he fired several shots near the meeting room at the bank.

“He just started shooting,” an unnamed employee told WHAS. I did not see his face. We were in the conference room.

He added, “Whoever was next to me was hit with their blood on me.”

Louisville Metro Police Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey said officers arrived within three minutes and found the shooter still firing. They exchanged fire with the killer.
