A pair of senior care nurse aides are currently facing criminal charges – for filming themselves abusing a patient with dementia for their online followers. Social media.
The disturbing video shows Chetiona Bishop, 20, and 18-year-old Jada Harris terrorizing the elderly woman at a living center. In Northeast Florida, she’s laughed at and made fun of all the time.
The footage was broadcast live on one of the employees’ Instagram accounts on April 3, and was later broadcast during a press conference chaired by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
The unnamed screamer – who has since been confirmed to be a dementia patient – can be heard at the Melbourne facility – as the pair repeatedly joke and laugh at the camera and ignore the woman’s screams.
At one point, the staff deliberately prevented the woman from entering her bathroom, and reluctantly helped her put on pants while complaining about being forced to care for the elderly. The two women have since been separated.

“I’m disgusted,” Ivey said during the meeting, which was broadcast live.
“The perpetrators in this case are not only disgusting, but despicable individuals who broadcast themselves live on air abusing one of our elderly citizens who suffers from dementia.”
He continued, “To abuse an elderly person or abuse anyone is disgusting enough, but to make things worse, they broadcast the abuse live.
They have already put it up on a livestreaming platform so that their friends can watch and laugh at it as they make fun of this elderly person in her condition.
The excerpts that followed revealed the aforementioned behavior, and showed how followers of Harris’ account laughed with retirement home aides when they misused the senior citizen tag.

“Not only did their friends laugh, but they actually made comments back and forth about how they handled it and put it in a closet,” Ivy reiterated.
The mayor further disclosed the initial advice referring to the live feed – which was still in operation at the time – from an employee at Market Street Memory who noticed the elderly woman looked sad the day after the video was shot.
The officials added that the patient had been living in the facility since August 2022, and they hailed the facility as the correct one Contact law enforcement once they are wise to the footage, and promptly fire employees thereafter.
Still, Ivey will continue to criticize Florida lawmakers for striking the duo off with relatively relaxed relations given the extent of their crimes.

He added, “Unfortunately, the state sets bond limits when they are first arrested. They don’t let us do that because I can tell you if they let me do it the bond will be when hell freezes over when these two get out.
According to local lock-up records, both women remain in jail and have not yet been released on bail. They are seen being escorted away by cops from the retirement facility over the weekend, which bills itself as a “luxury senior care facility”.
