Indeed used salary information, job demand, work experience, and degree requirements to find the best jobs for graduates.
Outside sales representative ranked No. 1 on Indeed’s list.
“Sales is always going to be a job that’s in demand to meet” a company’s needs to make money, per career expert Kristen Shah.

Outside sales representatives, accounting coordinators, speech-language pathologists are just three jobs that may appeal to college graduates this graduation season based on a recent list from Indeed.

“Job seekers entering the workforce are facing a different economy than those before them,” Kristen Shah, a career expert at Indeed, told Insider.

“I think we’ve been saying this for the last few years, it’s just different circumstances every year,” Shah added. “So, finding the right job or career for an entry-level job seeker is challenging, and especially if you’re coming off of a year of uncertainty. So, I think if you’re unsure which direction you’d like to go to in your first step of your career path, it’s important to begin researching opportunities early and determine which direction you’d like to take given your educational credentials.”

Indeed put together a recent list of jobs based on those that need relatively low or no work experience as well as those that typically need a bachelor’s or four-year degree. To create the list, Indeed analyzed various jobs that had an average starting salary of over $40,000, noted either a bachelor’s degree or a four-year degree in the job description, and required zero to three years of experience. Job demand was also used, with Indeed telling Insider that “the jobs on this list were identified based on year-over-year growth in share of postings (September 2021-February 2022 compared to September 2022-February 2023),” in addition to the other requirements.

Outside sales representative ranked at the top of Indeed’s list ordered by the percent change in the share of postings. This sales job, according to Indeed, performs sales duties with different customers via face-to-face.

Right behind this kind of sales representative on the list was transportation coordinator.

“As we’re monitoring things in the economy and where the jobs are lying, I think that transportation coordination is an interesting No. 2,” Shah said. “As we look at things like supply chain management, jobs in that sector are definitely growing in demand.”
