A motorcyclist has died after crashing at a drag race meeting in Victoria.
The rider took part in the ‘Test n Tune’ event at Heathcote Park Raceway near Bendigo on Sunday, the International Hot Rod Association Australia (IHRA) confirmed.
In a statement at about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, the IHRA offered “its deepest condolences to the family,” saying the remainder of the race meeting would be canceled and the facility closed to the public.
Victorian police confirmed that a 48-year-old Boronia man died around noon at the racetrack, on Knowsley-Barnadown Road in Knowsley.

Heathcote Park Raceway owner Lance Warren said the racing community was in shock.
“As a drag racing family, we are extremely saddened by what has happened and ask everyone to be respectful and understanding with our decision to cancel today’s Test & Tune,” he said.
“The well-being of the racer’s family is our priority and we extend our sincere condolences to them during this time.”
Worksafe and the police are investigating and an official report is being drawn up for De Korenaar.
