“I was trying to shoot a cute WFH movie, Wes Anderson-style, and accidentally film myself getting laid off?” It started on TikTok, along with a video that showed her banging her head against a wall.
She then uploaded the footage to TikTok and it quickly went viral – garnering over 5.8 million views.
Then she shared clips taken earlier in the day, apparently before she had any idea she was about to lose her job.
They showed her getting out of bed, brushing her teeth, and making coffee, before sitting down at her desk and starting to check her emails.
Suddenly her eyes widened and she covered her mouth with her hand in terror.

Jen concluded the video by revealing that she took a “mental health” tour with her husband and dog after learning the news, adding: “Onward to better things.”
“I debated whether I should even post this, but if you’ve been laid off too, know you’re not alone,” she said in the caption.
In a follow-up video, the former Amazon employee explained that she was very shocked by the news because she had worked at the company for eight years and thought it was doing well.

Jane said she believed the firing “wasn’t about her performance or who she was as an employee,” but added that it “didn’t make her bad any more.”
And she continued, “Part of me is happy to get out of this highly toxic environment, but the other part feels like failure and disappointment.
I hate that I have to tell people I got laid off but that’s life and I’m human.
It doesn’t make me any less cool, valuable, or smart. I know I’m going to land on my feet, I know I’m going to be okay but this sucks. This is the top 10 bad feelings.
People quickly flooded the comments section of the original video with their reactions.
Many sent her their support, while some joked that the incident actually made her TikTok look more like a Wes movie.
Wes is the director of such films as The Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Isle of Dogs, and is known for his unique and artistic style of editing.

Jane said she believed the firing was “not about her performance or who she was as an employee,” but added that she “didn’t make it bad at all.”

Despite the many nice messages, Jin gets some bad ones as well. Jen posted a video responding to someone stopping her for “making TikToks when they’re supposed to be working.” She said she filmed TikTok outside of business hours and encouraged them to ’empathize’

Despite the many nice messages, Jin gets some bad ones as well. In particular, one person accused her of being fired for “making TikToks on the job.”
