Two of TV’s favorite stars look unrecognizable wearing period wigs and costumes for upcoming West End comedy The Crown Jewels.
The pair will take the stage as part of the raucous royal affair, which is based on the true story of one of the most daring heist attempts in British history.
While one has previously hosted the BBC’s biggest competition shows, the other has made a name for itself as a stand-up comedian.
Surrounded by food and drink, one could be found behind a bar while the other enjoyed tasty treats and soaked buttocks.
But can you guess who they are?

It’s none other than GBBO’s Mel Giedroyc, 54, and Al Murray, 54, known for his comedic alter ego The Pub Landlord.
Mel looked incredible as she posed in full costume ahead of the premiere of the show where she plays a French noblewoman.
In a gold satin dress complete with lace trim and a large fan, she looked ready to take the stage.
Known for her blonde locks and funky fashion sense, she wore powdery makeup, pearls and a long red wig.
Meanwhile, Al sported luscious brown curls for his role as King Charles II that looked completely different from his bare-bones comic persona.
He also sported a mustache and a royal costume, complete with fur and a huge gold necklace.
The show’s official synopsis reads: Let’s set the tone. It’s 1671 and Colonel Blood is planning the greatest British heist of all time. He wants to steal the crown jewels of England. With the help of his conspirators, Blood finds himself in the Tower of London’.
‘He will receive the crown, the orb and the sceptre. However, Charles II cannot afford a royal scandal. Can the schemers achieve the unthinkable, or will the king take revenge?’.

It comes after Al Murray left the Good Morning Britain hosts in shock when he recently showed off his new look.
The comedian shaves off his hair for the role of Pub Landlord, but debuted with a full head of hair and beard for his TV appearance.
Speaking to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley about his new look, the comic revealed that he had been bald for so long that fans often thought he was unable to grow hair and would send him “baldness cures.”
While the look will have come as a shock to his followers, Susanna was left speechless after admitting she hadn’t noticed the drastic transformation.
As she interrupted their conversation about Spitting Image’s show, she suddenly mused: “I thought there was something different about you and I thought it was because you hadn’t shaved, but yes, of course you have hair!”
As Al started laughing, Susanna joked sarcastically, “I’m so perceptive.”
Richard confessed that he hadn’t picked up on the change either, admitting, “I wanted to say ‘have you lost weight?’ or something!’

Already replied: “People always say ‘have you lost weight?’ and I get sent stuff on Instagram asking “do you want to cure baldness?” and so on, but you don’t have to.’
Richard then asked, “Do you ever feel like you’ve created a monster you can’t escape?” as Al said, “When I cut my hair, yes.”
Richard admitted that he assumed the comic was wearing a bald cap, exclaiming, “Oh, so you really cut your hair?” Aren’t you wearing a bald thing?’
Susanna and Richard may not have noticed the change, as Al first debuted in 2020 with a head full of hair.
The outspoken comedian left viewers stunned with hosts Susanna and Ben Shephard shocked when they commented on his new look.
Susanna said, “I can’t believe it, the last time I saw you, your eyebrows were the only hair you had, what happened?”

Al explained, “I have her Susanna. I was going to go on tour so I had to cut my hair, but of course that didn’t happen so I could just let it grow out.”
He joked, “I look like the pub owner’s been locked in the basement for a few months.”
The interview later spiraled into chaos, with Ben forced to reprimand Al after making a rude gesture live on the show.
Al was unimpressed by news that Tim Davie, the BBC’s new director-general, is reportedly trying to address a perceived ‘left-wing bias’ in the broadcaster’s comedic output.
He said, “The thing is if people really want more right-wing comedy they’re going to have to vote for a left-wing government, whether you agree with it or not, it’s a comedian’s job to get up to mischief and make it ineffable to say. and also to flick Vs to the government.’
To demonstrate his point, he then stuck two fingers at the camera, shocking the daytime hosts.
