Apple’s Vision Pro headset headlined a slate of new product announcements at the company’s WWDC 2023 event.
Apple
On Monday, Apple announced the release of its first mixed-reality headset and several other new products at WWDC 2023, the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
Alongside the novel Vision Pro headset, Apple debuted a new 15-inch MacBook Air laptop, a new M2 Ultra processor for updated models of its Mac Studio and Mac Pro desktop computers, and a slew of operating system and software updates.
Here, we’ve compiled everything we know about the new products Apple launched at the event, including their release dates, starting prices, and ordering information where applicable.
The Apple Vision Pro headset

Apple
Apple’s highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro headset, starting at $3,499 and set for release early next year, will allow users to immerse themselves in dynamic AR and VR “environments” using Apple’s new visionOS operating system. The headset runs on a combination of Apple’s M2 chip and a new R1 chip.
With the Vision Pro, users can utilize AR and VR to open and dynamically adjust and use a wide range of apps like FaceTime, web browsers, immersive video streaming, gaming, and health and meditation features. The headset will include an all-new App Store specific to visionOS with programs optimized for use with the headset.
Using simple eye, hand, and voice controls, Vision Pro users can scroll, switch between apps, make selections, and even record photos and videos in 3D. Apple’s new EyeSight feature allows Vision Pro users to see those around them and shows the user’s eyes through the headset’s glass lens, alerting others to when the user is recording or using an app.
The Vision Pro also integrates with other Apple products, like the Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad, so you can use it for work. If you simply look at your Mac’s screen while wearing the Vision Pro, for instance, you can transfer the windows from your Mac to your environment.
The Vision Pro works seamlessly with Apple products and apps in a virtual environment.
Apple
The Vision Pro headset boasts 23 million pixels across two lenses for an ultra-HD display. It offers 2 hours of battery life when fully charged and comes with a tethered battery for additional charge.
Apple said that it will continue to develop the visionOS operating system and expand its library of apps over the coming months ahead of a projected release for the Vision Pro headset early next year.

Apple
The new 15.3-inch MacBook Air marks a size increase of 1.7 inches from previous MacBook Air models, which have only been available in a 13.6-inch size up to this point.
At a mere 11.5 millimeters in thickness and weighing about 3 pounds, it retains the Air’s signature slim profile with a larger screen, six speakers, up to 24GB of memory, and yes, a headphone jack. It also boasts a 1080p camera and an 18-hour battery life with Apple’s M2 processor.
The screen resolution and processing power will remain the same as the previous 13.6-inch Air model, meaning that the screen clarity will likely be slightly lower than the previous model due to the increased screen size.
