NNA – The Embassy of Morroco in Lebanon distributed today a circular, in which it indicated that according to high instructions from His Majesty the King, the Chargeacute; d#39;Affairs of the Embassy of Sweden in Rabat, and the Ambassador of His Majesty the King in Stockholm have been summoned for consultations.

This came in wake of the Swedish government#39;s authorization, once again, to organize a demonstrationnbsp;during which a copy of the Holy Qur#39;an was burntnbsp;in front of a mosque in Stockholm.

quot;This act of hostility is irresponsible and showsnbsp;disregard tonbsp;the feelings of more than a billion Muslims in this holy period that coincides with the Hajj season and Eid al-Adha,quot; the circular stated, addingnbsp;that quot;whatever the political positions or differences that may exist between countries, the Kingdom considers it unacceptable to disdain the Muslim faith in this way.quot;

The statement also considered that the principles of tolerance and universal values cannot be reduced in this manner of accommodatingnbsp;the viewpoints of some, whilenbsp;at the same time, giving little consideration to the beliefs of more than a billion Muslims across the world.

The Embassy continued in its statement: ldquo;In the face of these repeated provocations, which were committed under the eyes and with the consent of the Swedish government, and pursuant to the sublime instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI – Commander of the Faithful, the Chargeacute; drsquo;Affaires of Sweden in Rabat was summoned today to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.nbsp;With this summons, the Kingdom of Morocco#39;s strong condemnation of this infringement and its rejection of this unacceptable act was expressed. His Majesty#39;s ambassador to Sweden was also summoned to the Kingdom for consultations for an indefinite period.quot;
