Ellen DeGeneres is currently the Twitter user with the greatest following to have posted on Threads.
Celebs with large followings who joined Threads include Shakira and Kim Kardashian.
Twitter’s chief twit continues to tweet reactions to the Threads launch.
Threads launched to over 10 million users in its first seven hours of opening to the public, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, intensifying his rivalry with Twitter-owner Elon Musk.
Already, some of Twitter’s most followed users have jumped onto the Threads wagon. Here’s what they spooled.
Ellen DeGeneres, 75.4 million Twitter followers

Ellen DeGeneres is the 12th most followed account on Twitter and, as of June 6, the user with the largest Twitter following to post on Threads.
DeGeneres shared her first post on the rival app a few hours after the app launched, writing: “Welcome to Gay Twitter!”
Bill Gates, 62.9 million Twitter followers

Bill Gates, currently the 18th most followed account on Twitter said he was excited to jump into Threads, accompanying a hilarious gif of him jumping over a chair.
Shakira, 53.8 million Twitter followers

Shakira made her move to Threads on Tuesday with her first post: “Well hello Threads 👋.” The pop star is currently the 26th most-followed account on Twitter.
Jennifer Lopez, 44.9 million Twitter followers

Jennifer Lopez put up three posts on the new app within four hours. “Hola Threads! What should we thread about first?!” read her first post, followed by: “Hola a todos!!!!!” and “Can’t get enough of your threads 🎶”
The actress also invited her Twitter followers to join her on the new social media app with a Tweet of her Threads link.
Oprah Winfrey, 42.2 million Twitter followers

Oprah Winfrey’s first post on Threads included a promotion message for “The Color Purple,” a movie she co-produced. “I’m just here to tell y’all that #TheColorPurple is coming out this Christmas. Take your sisters, friends, family, anyone and everyone and wear your purple. By December we don’t want to be able to find purple fabric in the United States. Not a purple feather, a purple shoe, or purple sock cause we’re getting our PURPLE on 💜💜💜”

Rapper Wiz Khalifa is perhaps the most active celebrity user on Threads, having posted dozens of posts and videos since joining.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 13.3 million Twitter followers

US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Threads to call for a more positive social media platform. “Alright, let’s do this thing! May this platform have good vibes, strong community, excellent humor, and less harassment 🪄”
Ocasio-Cortez criticized Elon Musk in May for sharing an account impersonating her on Twitter.
Twitter’s most-followed user, Musk, replied to another user on Twitter after Threads was launched, “It is infinitely preferable to be attacked by strangers on Twitter, than indulge in the false happiness of hide-the-pain Instagram.”
Other figures with large Twitter followings, such as Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Britney Spears, and Jimmy Fallon, have also joined the app, but have yet to post.
