NNA – MP Mark Daou stressed quot;the importance of electing a president of the republic instead of adhering to the policy of obstruction, excess power and dedicating patchworknbsp;policynbsp;to pressing issues,quot; stressing his refusal to appoint a governor for the central bank by a caretaker government.

Daou#39;s position, which came during an interview with the ldquo;Liqarsquo; Al-Ahadrdquo; program via ldquo;Voice of All Lebanon,rdquo; expressed his surprise at the statement issued by the four deputies of the Central Bank Governor, and in his opinion that they were ldquo;asked to do so.rdquo;

MP Daou raised questions about the role of the caretaker prime minister, Najib Mikati, who did not issue any position regarding this issue, while his deputy, His Excellency Al-Shami, took the initiative to respond to the statement of the governorrsquo;s deputies.

The lawmaker also called for quot;liberalizing the exchange rate and moving towards approving the real dollar rate,quot; pointing out that the quot;Sayrafaquot; platform only serves banks and a group of money changers and money transfer companies.

In this context, the deputy warned that the economic situation is catastrophic, and the issue of the governance of the Banque du Liban is extremely dangerous.

Finally, the MPnbsp;concluded by saying: quot;We cannot build a state with weapons outside the state that send permanent threats.quot;
