Usually, all the free F1 live streams are found in Austria, Belgium, and so on. And they’re still on this week, of course, but the UK’s Channel 4 is keeping up the fine tradition of showing the British F1 live stream for free.
We’ve listed all the free countries below, but if you’re not in one of those countries, you’ll need to use a VPN (virtual private network) to watch along. Where to Watch a free British F1 live stream
As mentioned above, the UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Austria have free F1 live streams for the British GP today. UK coverage of the live race is usually exclusively shown on the paid Sky Sports service, but this weekend Channel 4 has it on TV or online for free. Channel 4’s coverage begins 90 minutes before the race at 1:30 p.m. BST, but if you just want to see the race, just head on over by 3 p.m.

Are there extended highlights later?
In the UK, Channel 4 has an extended highlights show a few hours after the race at 11:50 p.m. BST (6:50 p.m. ET). Coverage lasts two hours, so it feels like you’re effectively seeing the whole race with only a few time-saving edits. You can tune in on the Channel 4 website online and use a VPN as outlined above to watch from outside the UK. If you’re not free to watch it at this time, it will be available on-demand for free on the site, probably the day after. Although, the on-demand option is sometimes a shortened version, lasting just over an hour some weeks and closer to two hours on others.
This highlights show isn’t just a one-off for the British GP, by the way. It’s on every race weekend and is a great free option for English commentary if you can avoid the race result from earlier in the day.
How to watch an F1 live stream in the US
ESPN carries coverage of Formula 1 racing throughout the season, and there’s plenty of it left to enjoy too. If you don’t already have access to the channel, there are a couple of cord-cutting options for you to consider.
