<p>When his spokesperson <a href="https://twitter.com/bethestesfitnes/status/1555006148591456256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1555006148591456256%7Ctwgr%5Eebecff82b69a3aa1f6eb49d2bb6b3f22650d7214%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fpolitics%2Fron-desantis-spokesperson-teases-major-announcement-prepare-the-liberal-media-meltdown">tweeted</a> that <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/florida-governor-ron-desantis-suspends-state-attorney-andrew-warren-for-defying-abortion-ban">Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis </a>would be making a “MAJOR announcement” resulting in “the liberal media meltdown of the year,” it seemed it might have had something to do with his presidential intentions.</p>
<p>It didn’t—and it did. DeSantis announced at a press conference that he was suspending Hillsborough County state attorney Andrew Warren, a duly elected Democrat linked to <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/theres-been-a-george-soros-for-every-era-of-antisemitic-panic">George Soros</a>—thus further presenting himself as the champion against all things 'woke'.</p>
<p>Warren’s selective prosecutions have led to him being seen as soft on crime. He also has made it known he will not enforce restrictions on <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/health-care-providers-file-lawsuit-over-floridas-15-week-abortion-ban-signed-by-desantis">abortion</a> and <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/john-oliver-drags-disney-to-hell-over-floridas-dont-say-gay-bill">gender-affirming treatments</a> for juveniles that he views as contrary to the Florida constitution.</p>
