Florida Governor and GOP Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis escaped unharmed in a multi-car crash in Tennessee Tuesday while traveling in a motorcade. The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. on Interstate 75 in Chattanooga when traffic slowed down, resulting in a chain reaction crash involving four government vehicles in the motorcade, ooficials said.
Governor DeSantis was not injured in the collision, Chattanooga police said. Despite the accident, the Governor proceeded with his campaign event. A female staff member suffered a minor injury and received treatment at the scene.
One of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s agents was driving the Governor’s vehicle at the time of the accident.
DeSantis’ campaign representatives have not provided further details about the accident.
