Some of the documents recovered in a raid at his Mar-a-Lago resort last year were contained classified information related to national security. Most of the charges brought against him involved violations of the Espionage Act. Prosecutors also named Walt Nauta, a personal aide to Trump, as a co-defendant in the case</p> <p>The new indictment added <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-faces-additional-charges-in-classified-documents-case-court-docs-2023-7" rel="noopener">two additional charges against Trump and named a third defendant</a>, Carlos De Oliveira, who was a property manager at Mar-a-Lago. Prosecutors allege Trump, Nauta, and De Oliveira attempted to delete surveillance footage at Mar-a-Lago in the summer of 2022 to obstruct the investigation.</p> <p>Trump has previously denied all wrongdoing in the case.
