NNA – Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniorarsquo;s press office on Friday dismissed as ldquo;fabricatedrdquo; all the statements made by Lebanon#39;s Central Bank governor, Riad Salameh, who falsely implicated Siniora in engineering the salary scale ldquo;contrary to well-established facts.rdquo;
The statement indicated further that Siniora stood alone opposing the approval of the salary scale in allnbsp;three stages of itsnbsp;discussion in parliament. ldquo;Siniorarsquo;s position was evident on multiple occasions, and in many speeches he had delivered during the parliamentary sessions that were held to approve the salary scale back in 2011, 2012, and 2017 — the years following his terms as Prime Minister,quot; the statement read.nbsp;
ldquo;Siniora#39;s stances during the parliamentary sessions and discussions extending from 2011 to 2017 highlighted the grave risks of squandering public funds, away from substantial reforms for Lebanon#39;s growth and productivity,rdquo; the statement added.
